Batman: The Dark Knight

Went to see the Dark Knight today - my favourite cinema film this year. Great on every level (except Batman does whisper a little too much) and worth seeing on the big screen. Colin is pretending he didn't like it in some elaborate ruse to stop every seeing the movie of the year!

lovely interface

This is a lovely way to search the internet..

http://www.searchme.com/

When I was writing my essay the other weekend I searched the videos for musical artists I liked and just played them - the great thing about the video search is that it automatically plays and then moves on to the next one when finished. Lovely.

BBC Iplayer

I really like the BBC Iplayer... especially that the volume goes up to 11!

Heavy Metal Monk

Following conversations about Metallica, Man O War etc yesterday I was pleased to come across this:

Quite engaging, really.

Craziest animal?

The African Honey badger is a nut case. Worth watching this all the way through - the badger gets poisoned at the end... but is it...THE END??

Best Graphic Novel?

Time magazines pick of the best graphic novels are here:

http://www.time.com/time/2005/100books/0,24459,graphic_novels,00.html

I think they deliberately stayed away from superhero titles. I agree with Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns though and Bone is a really good read ( in fact, bone is one of the best value graphic novels you;ll find - its £18 on amazon but it is 1300 pages!!) but I found avid Boring... boring (maybe that was the point...).
Not on the list is Mas which won a pulitzer prize! A really excellent read. And reasonable in its complete (2 volume) edition.

XBOX experience overhaul

At the latest E3 conference there's quite a lot of info about the new direction xbox is taking. They are going to release a load of "family friendly" titles and they are going to overhaul the dashboard to include personal avatars. Also: party voice chats and on xbox live... Portal: Still Alive!

My wi fi journey

I planned to spend today in Central library writing my essay - but they didn't have wi-fi access!! Can you believe it? With all the money that has been spend on the so-called "wi-fi cloud" that is supposed to transport Birmingham into a European city of excellence in terms of Internet Access???
