Pohoda is Slovakian for relax and the festival is an attempt to create an atmosphere where revellers can chill out, let down their hair and unwind. Imagine a weekend at a spa but with the soundtrack of some of the world’s greatest acts.

Even the location is calming: an airport located at the foot of the Strazovske vrchy hills in the beautiful valley of the Vah River. The event amalgamates a variety of arts with sculpting, painting, dance, literature and theatre with music being the proverbial glue that holds it all together.

There is a free showing of comedy shorts at the Library Theatre run by the same people who put on the Telly Savalas does Birmingham and Cliff Richard's Take Me High.

Bar opens at 6pm, films at 7pm. Its free...

I have reached a ripe old age for a monkey, yes I have. Whilst usually birthdays fall on a weeknight (boo!!) I am in the nice position of it being on a Friday. I think I will probably end up in a pub in town somewhere... suggestions?

The Country Girl is looking for rounders teams to take part in their charity funday, is anyone up for a bit ball in the park action, this coming Sunday. We need 8 people for a team.

There will also be a pig roast and beer.

If anyone is interested I'll go and register a team.

Rounders appears to be a no no - anyone fancy going to Custard Factory to dance to New York Disco. Pendulum are also there.

Hopefully people will actually turn up and watch stuff rather than arriving about an hour before its finished, complaining that this artsfest thing is crap. You know who you are.

I believe some of the club's women are gathering for natter and drinksies (or whatever else the female of our species gets up to) on sat 27th Sept. As this renders some male members inert (oo-er) and home-bound I propose a

I am going to Wax:On at the Rainbow Warehouse to see Late of the Pier, Midnight Juggenaughts and Erol Alkan. I might even take Friday off.

I don't know how many of you know (because I haven't exactly done much promotion yet) but I am putting on a charity night in aid of the www.tacheback.com charity at the Sunflower Lounge. Its on the 11th October which is a Saturday and will cost you less than the price of a pint.
