On Wednesday, I am going to this:
http://www.fizzpop.org.uk/events/processing-anonymous-wednesday-april-21...
to talk about making pointless shit like this:
I saw Karl on the train this morning who invited me and the "usual suspects" to his fortieth at the British Oak on May 8th.
He said he's trying to get a band to play and has a DJ who plays music what he likes - so expect the Ozric Tentacles and the Mighty Dreadzone.

does anyone fancy going to a pub in Harborne to help David celebrate his 40th birthday?
i know he would really appreciate it if people would join him in a birthday drink!
I'm off to San Sebastian for a few days, but I doubt that I'll sit in a bar full of middle aged fat German blokes listening to accordian music like some people did in 2003. I'll also be taking enough clean clothes so that unlike Joe I won't have to walk around with a suspicious white stain on my T-Shirt.*

LCD Soundsystem are playing at the Sonar Festival. I'm pretty tempted to go there again this year. This is their new single, a cover version of a Alan Vega song.
Sonar is being held in A Coruña as well as in Barcelona. Galicia is the end of the word. It's where all of them ley lines from all over Europe converge. It's where the the Camino de Santiago de Compostela finishes. I might *HAVE* to go. I might walk there from Glastonbury.

This saturday a minimalist composer (conteporary of Steve Reich and Phillip Glass) is to play the Carillon on the green.
I'd be quite interested to see how he will produce something that sounds like this:
Anyone fancy driving me down to London to meet swimwear models in their paddling pool?

I think Bestival is one of the better festivals I've been to and this year I'm thinking of taking Joshua to Camp Bestival which is *very* child friendly. This year they are running the option to spread the cost of the festival over six months which is rather cool if you ask me.
Confirmed so far for Camp Bestival is The Fall and The Wurzels. Ar!
There is an open air silent disco thing in the ampitheatre at the mac next friday. It's only a fiver. Indie/Rock on one channel, Motown/Soul on another and "guilty pleasures" on the third. Only a fiver.

I fancy dressing up in white robes. ;)
I'm thinking of going to the Hare and Hounds to see the Phenomenal Handclap Band.

I can't afford to go to The Big Chill so instead I bought myself a ticket for The Little Chill. £8 + B.F. for two days of music or a fiver for individual days.
A wide range of music

From their face fuck page.
The first ever Little Chill will be taking place on Sat 7th and Sunday 8th August at a secret location in Birmingham, to be announced before the event.

I know you guys may be a bit skint on both money and days off by then but do you fancy it? It might be an altogether more drier experience than End of the Road. Tickets are E65. Line up looks good...
BTW I'm back in blighty.
Dan, how about this one? Joe? More guitars less drum machines. And Yo La Tengo.

When i was in Leicester the other day I overheard a conversation where a young gentleman was describing to his woman that if she wore too many layers that her clothing would start acting like a super cooling system because of the way that insulation works.
She stopped him dead and said "urghhhhh! Science!"
I think she could do with visiting this:

The programme for this years Birmingham Book Festival has been released.
I am going to book myself tickets for the Inauguration of the Poet Laureate for Brum, the Short Story Competition Prize and the Writers Without Borders event. Because they are free and start about the same time as I leave work. I'd also like to go the closing party at the Victoria where they are showing short films based on poems.
