According to the Web we have the following options:
Tiverton Road: Wed 8:00 - 9:30 or Thu 8:30 - 9:30 lane swimming
Northfield: Mon 8:15 - 9:45 or Thu 8:00 - 9:45 lane swimming
I've had a look at the other pools around the place ( Harbourne, Moseley Road etc ) but there's nothing at any sort of decent time.
I'm OK with either place, anytime.
One thing Tiverton has going for it ( apart from the other thing ) is that the fast lane really is quite often fairly fast so it's usually me holding other people up rather than the other way around, people tend to only do 10 - 20 lengths - quite quickly and then have a rest so they set off quickly again which means if you just want to keep going eventually you end up being overtaken quite often ( at least I do ! ). It's fairly busy earlier on but gets a lot quieter towards 9:30.
I can't remember what Northfield was like but I'm up for having a look see and checking it out.

can we do Tuesday or Wednesday swim this week, I think the lanes and pool are open at the usual time?
Surely can
Hows about Wednesday, I've sent my swimming shorts off to the parents to be washed today ( I don't have a washing machine yet ) so they probably wont be done by tomorrow.
wednesday is cool, usual

I will be ready. The pool is open at 8 on Wednesdays so we won't have to hang around and wait for the synchro people to stop which will be nice.

At the Cinema the following day if you fancy that?
Chinema?
What you going to see? A russian arthouse movie perhaps?
Yes
It's called Темный рыцарь
A very dark multi layered almost animialstic pop tale with comic undertones.
Is
that the one about how a red sky at night guarantees a sunny day will follow?
I'll definately see that (don't tell the Vituperich)
No.
It's the one where the rastaman gets exiled to Iceland and is forced into back breaking manual agricultural labour.
Not
the one where the skin head is forced into mundane, soul destroying, meaningless and repetitive office work then?
Mundane, Soul Destroying, Meaningless and Repetitve Office Work
No not that one.
Mundane and Soul Destroying - Whilst I think this work is a bit boring and am probably not exactly suited to computer programming, there are people in my office who love it and do the same thing at home as hobbyists.
Meaningless - Hardly, the last system I developed keeps track of children taken under Police protection and forces Police officers to give reasons for all actions relating to that child whilst under Police Protection. This will ensure that they are not handed back to people who were the reason why they taken into Police protection in the first place without a valid cause. Which is what happened to Victoria Climbie with tragic results.
Repetitive - Work by its very nature has some repetitive elements to it however boring as it is I know that this job is not going to be anywhere near as repetitive as potato picking.
So one big fat rasberry to you!
Fat Raspberry
Apparently the government themselves are building a system to prevent more Victoria Climbie type events. It's going to hold details of all under 18 year olds and allow hundreds of thousands government employees, council workers and anyone who else who wants it access.
The government are so confidant that it's going to be inherently insecure and dangerous that only the common folk will actually be held on it. The offspring of politicians, celebrities or other VIPs will not have to be recorded on there.

Heh heh it'll never happen it'll be another central government IT disaster.
Indeed
To entertain any alternative outcome would be, simply illogical.

swim? and is Dan having a night out this week?
Certainly
Not to do so would be most, illogical.
Dan is going out tomorrow, 8:30 at the Hare & Hounds.

swim?
No.
Pub?
what are you doing Friday?
what are you doing Friday?
Not Sure
If its not absolutely pissing down I was thinking of taking Joshua to see the Light Night thing at the Artsfest I think it looks quite interesting, fire and light sculptures and a light parade. But if its raining I'll probably go for a pint somewhere where David is not. :)
Can always meet up for an after work pint in the Aston triangle if you fancy it, you listening Col?
Joe, i have been working
Joe, i have been working from home this week as i have a cough and sore throat, it hasn't lifted so I am resigned to the fact that I am not swimming tomorrow
working?
You have been on the x-box during the day?
yeah, I had the blackberry
yeah, I had the blackberry in my other hand ;)
Foul Diseases !
You never know you might recover yet, think positive.
I think I'll be going anyway because if last weeks world of pain is what happens when I miss weeks I simply can't afford to miss anymore ! Either that or I'll stay in on the x-box anyway. Or maybe fix Pauls PC, apparently his internet has stopped working and Virgin have told him his computer has lost it's ip address and he has to go to PC world to get another one ( IP address ) and then re-install Vista. I'm not sure that information is strictly accurate but I can appreciate the position the helpline monkey may have found themselves in.

Pub.
I think he should go out, socialise and meet people.
he can go all that from the
he can go all that from the comfort of his own living room through the xbox
No.
No you can't. How exactly is sitting in front of your TV going out?
Mind expansion
But what is "out"? The greatest journey of all is the internal journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. And for that you need only been in one place. I'm not sure if playing Call of Duty 4 helps on the path to nirvana... but it might.
It helps
In the unlikely event it doesn't actually help with the journey it will definitely help you kick ass once you get there.

well he is socialising and meeting people, 2 out of 3
Well
Moving to Iceland.
I am not happy in Brum and I need a change. Its time to move on.
Potato picking. Not a very glamorous job I know, but its an opportunity to go to a new part of the world, see things I have not seen, learn things I do not know and meet new people.
reykjavik I really like the sound of. It looks like a fun city with a really interesting live music and arts scene. I love skiiing and snow boarding and I can not wait to develop those skills. And I will never tire of watching the northern lights.
The geothermal activity in Iceland is supposed to be unique on this planet. Something I can not wait to see/smell!/and experience.
So 2 big fat raspberries back at you!
Enjoy
Good luck to you - have a great time.
Nick Said...
You are going to end up as a geography teacher in Basingstoke.
I think he was referring to this

I
