How to Demotivate and Employee

1. Don't give them a pay rise because he has had one more day sick than the official limit. Even though two of those days were the weekend.

2. Advertise the job that they have effectively doing for the past six months the day that they go on annual leave and make the closing date the day they before they come back. Then tell them that the job was their's but there if only they had applied for it.

3. Don’t give them another pay rise for some petty reason even though they have met all of the years objectives and have a 100% attendance.

4. Harrass them about timekeeping, ignore the fact that they work evenings and weekends.

5. After six months re-interview for the job in stage 2 without advertising.

Did you tell

Them you were interested in the job ?

Choice Words

I had a few choice words after being told that the job was mine if I'd only applied for it, yes.

Time for a change

Well in that case then I'd quite honestly start looking for another job, if they knew you were interested but didn't ask you to come for an interview then I'd begin to suspect your promotion and pay rise prospects might not be looking too promising.

Time For A Change

Time to get out of boring IT, they do stuntman training at the Midlands Art Centre only that is shut for the foreseable future.

Actually

You should go quit and go contracting for a while, work for 6 months and spend 6 months training as a stuntman or a clown in a circus, whatever you fancy, there are benefits...

  • More money
  • Work as often or as you like
  • Get exposure to more ways of working and technology
  • No office politics, you don't like them, you leave - they don't like you, you leave. Nice and simple arrangement
  • You can tell people exactly what you think 'cos who cares if they sack you you can just go and work somewhere else

Of course there are disadvantages as well, no subsidised training or courses, the only job security you have is your ability to get new contracts, no paid holidays or sick time, you really have to be there where and when you are contracted to be unless you don't want to be in which case thats fine but you don't get paid, you can end up working a fair way from where you live. Personally I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages so if I was you I'd at least look at some contract work to see what you get paid for it and then thats an option you can use to give your current employers the great big finger.

sometimes for no reason it

sometimes for no reason it just doesn't work, even if you are totally in the right, the rights and wrongs don't really matter, its just not going to work, sod them, move on, you will love it

Shut ?

That's what they want you to think, part of the test will be breaking into the course.

Meant To be....

You've been moaning about your job for a while. Think of it as a kick up the arse to get out of the place.

A

big "here here" to all of the above. It is time to move on. There is no point staying somewhere, or anywhere in any aspect of life for that matter, where you are miserable and undervalued. Life is too short and valuable for that sort of shit man!
