after a very relaxing night train, (€80 for a sleeper) I am now in Granada and checking out the Alhambra. It is very very warm!

I guess it won't be all that much cooler in Madrid either.

You shouldn't bother with all this cultural stuff though, just get yourself down to Torremelinos and Malaga and do some 'larging'

Joe I think you are getting Malaga mixed up Marbella.

Torremolinos is supposed to have a very nice old town and was a liberal haven under the rule of Franco (mainly I guess because there is a huge american airbase next to it).

I personally would travel to Sevilla then to Cadiz cuz its supposed to be rather nice and then down to Gibraltar to look at red phone boxes and monkeys and get the ferry to Tangiers (only fourty euros) and then visit Marrakech and Casablanca.
