Slightly on the dancey side I suppose but its only £85 and whiteboyswithguitars a lá Summer Sundae can get a bit boring.

BBQ from 2.30pm onwards

hiya,

we are having a BBQ next saturday for those that would like to come join us. Bring stuff for BBQ and beer. we will provide salad, dips, crisps etc etc!

I get confused when people say "next" Saturday or "next" monday... Perhaps my perception of linear time is poor. I prefer to live in a constantly changing time river that is fluid and can loop back on itself. I just spent today playing with you when you were 12, Chris - did you suddenly get some unpleasant abuse memories today?

This/Next

If I'm referring to the coming Saturday I say "this Saturday" and when referring to the Saturday after that I say "next Saturday" unless it's towards the beginning of the week when next Saturday seems an impossibly long time away and then I can use "next Saturday" to actually refer to "this Saturday". Other days also follow a similar pattern.

Apparently in America this and next always mean the next coming day and they don't have this confusion about it.

This Saturday means the coming one, next Saturday means the following one. Simple.

This evening I skipped out of work and leapt joyously into the car anticipating a lovely evening of sun shine fun. I arrive home, step out of the car only to find a large raindrop has landed on my head. And then another, and another.
