Hmmm
On their website there is a link to some photos showing the massive amount of fun they had last year. It looked to me like a load of people huddling miserably in cardboard boxes.
sleepout
hi, i now have my sponsorship form so please sponsor me to freeze to death on 4th december 2009!
any donations greatfully accepted
ta
very disappinting
with the lack of sponsorship from you boys............£10 from joe is the only sponsorship i have received. rubbish really, i hope non of your kids ever need st basils is all i can say........bah humbug to you all!!!!
Money?
I think my kids need all the money I can get my hands on at the moment rather than st basils.
I would gladly donate if i had any spare cash.
Sorry.
p.s. what do st basils do anyway?
st basils
are a hostel for young people who have nowhere to go ie parents have washed their hands of them or parents are in prison, carer has died etc etc. they help them live independently so teach them life skills and then move them on to their own tenancies....you would be surprised at how many young people's parents kick them out.
i understand that you have a lot of mouths to feed but even a small amount such as£1 would do for this worthwhile cause. i have raised £202.50 so far
i found myself in this situation at 15 and could have done with something like this. it's quite scary having nowhere to go at that age.
anyway my post wasn't directly aimed at you colin but everyone who could find a £1 i'm sure
Sorry Kerri I was just
Sorry Kerri I was just trying to make a light hearted comment that charity should start at home.
Didn't mean to offend you. I really would like to donate but really don't have any spare cash at moment, wrong time of year really.
no offence......
you didn't offend me colin.....don't worry about it if you can't afford it i understand of course!
Years Ago.
I did this twice once in the summer when I was sixteen with Debbie Newbold and it was nice and warm and then another time with David Ford, Phil and Teresa in the winter when it was freezing cold. Teresa spent most of the night farting.
no sponsors yet....
come on it must be worth some money to see me freeze!
richard - did you register for this????
Stick this on your form ...
I'll sponsor you £1 for every hour you spend sleeping out but I will knock off £0.50 for each of those 12 hours which you don't spend sleeping out. The last 3 hours 3AM - 6AM will count double.
So...
£1 for 6 til 3 = £9
£2 for 3 til 6 = £6
Less 50p x 12 = £6
£9 please Joey.
Or at least that's how I work it out.
Recount Please
If she stays the whole night then it's £15 but I'm not paying anything for any hours not spent sleeping out so for those hours the net gain for the charity is -£0.50 or -£1.00 in the 3 double time mega bonus hours which means that if she doesn't do it at all they owe me £7.50.
Are...
You sponsoring me as well?
You can do that do that here.
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/stbasils
£30 very generous of you Jopey.
Throw the keys in the pot ...
Is Paul OK with you and his woman sleeping together ?
What Do You Think I Am?
You can't do that sort of thing with yer mates girl. Separate cardboard boxes.
Brrrr
It's going to be cold though, wouldn't it be more practical to burn one box for warmth whilst you huddle in the other one ?
Meaty
She aint got much meat on her. I think the Amazonian lady that gets on the train in the morning, might be more appropriate in that situation.
Amazonian Lady ?
It would be tricky to hunker down in her cleavage though wouldn't it ?
Who Cares.
It'd be fun trying.
No
I don't care about tramps that much. You can go halves with Kerri.
sleepout
......not for the tramps joe! for 16-17 year olds!!!!!!! i dunno.......
Registered
Yep I'm registered. No alcohol on site. How will you cope?
he he..
hmmmmmn
mr clifford is not anwering any of his texts re this sleepout.....are you still alive mr clifford or just scared of the cold?!
about to leave work now to drive to venue and then will be choosing a pub to sit in for a while and get tea before heading over.
give us a call if you fancy joining us
Rain
It might have helped if you'd texted the right phone.
Did you finish the sleep out? I was nicely tucked up in bed whilst it was hosing down.
sleepout
i texted both numbers that i had and checked i had the right one with paul doh!
anyway, yes i managed to sleepout til 6am, our shelter lasted the night, though it got a little soggy! some shelters were washed away so i guess we did well. my sleeping bag was very wet but a whole 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep (from children) was enough to keep me there.
however, the responsible parent left looking after Finn, decided to get drunk and stay up til 4am so could not come and give me a lift home.
Froze for two hours whilst paking up and waiting for transport. nice eh
pictures will follow.
Moderation Is The Key
I guess we need to rethink our moderate drinking strategy then. I was only wanting a small glass of wine and then off home to bed, it's a complete mystery how I ended up so paralytically drunk and discovering it was practically morning.
Waiting?
Why did you have to wait for transport? The 45 runs every twenty minutes from about 5.30 on a Saturday morning.
sleepout
i have no idea which buses go where in birmingham and had no way of getting to town without doing an injury carrying all the equipment we used.......mr cooper was still drunk and not in the least coherent!
sleepout
hiya,
can you just verify how much you are sponsoring us joe??!!! just an amount will do, i have a cold and will be suffering enough!
richard, we are going to the pub first tomorrow if you want to meet up?! probably the rainbow i think
just give us a call tonight or tomorrow (i'm going straight after work)
anyone else going to sponsors us? come on you stingy buggers
Sponsorship
It depends on how long you sleep out for, see the explanation above for further details. Any time you spend in the pub doesn't count as sleeping out either !!!
sponsorship
we have to be on site by 11pm latest and it ends at 6am so that 7 hours
how much do i get for that?!
Dosh
That will get you £10. If it rains I might donate the other £5 anyway because that is the kind of kind hearted philanthropist that I am.
Nice Work
My sources inform me that you must have been out there until at least 3:30AM so I am guessing you probably finished the entire night. How would you like your prize, cash in hand or trust me to donate it on that website ?
ha ha ha you were at mine
ha ha ha you were at mine getting drunk til about 3.30 so yes your 'sources' are right!
prize money
hi joe,
i completed sleepout between 10.45 and 7am, i did acutally sleep for 5 hours whilst it poured with rain.
i was nowhere near the A&B but in the old crown until 10.30pm mr Collins, your old eyes must have been deceiving you!
if you could give me the dosh sat joe as i have added you to my sponsorship form
ta muchly, much appreciated.
i was trying to add a photo but it said it was too big so if you let me have your email address i will email it to you and you can add it as evidence i was there!
A and B
I saw her in the A and B at half two.
;)
Fifteen Quid
Put him down for fifteen quid, he won't know how long we've been there anyway.
Cheating
That's hardly the correct spirit. I wouldn't have expected anything less than total honesty but if this is your attitude I shouldn't pay out unless there is some proof that the challenge has been met.
I don't know about anyone else but I think it's really irritating when people just put lumps sums on sponsorship forms rather than an amount per lap or hour or whatever unit is relevant to the challenge. If people think they're just going to get the money anyway where's the incentive ?
Fuckov!
Bollocks Joe, you are just a stingy fucker who thinks he can pay a little less.
i understand.....
where you are coming from...i will be completing the challenge believe me and there will be photographic evidence to support this!
i have raised about £170 so far and wouldn;t have bothered if i wasn;t taking it seriously...plus i have a god awful cold to boot so i will be suffering twice as much
Umbrella
The weather looks pretty miserable tomorrow night with lots of heavy rain so good luck and stay dry !
Honest.
Just be honest Joe and say that you don't want to sponsor them.
Used car salesman?
Honest Joe sounds like a used car salesman. :)
Used ?
These motors are barely used at all, last driven, once, by little old ladies. Everyone of them a great little goer.
your dad......
I remember we left your dad who went to sleep on a bench, and when we returned a few hours later there was a thick layer of ice on his sleeping bag.
