Fun in the Sun - Donostia Day 6

After an easy drive from Olite to Donostia we set out to find a place to stay, firstly using the tried and tested method of driving around without getting out of the car to check anywhere, then driving around and getting out of the car only to find hotel full or completely out of price range, finally stopping in a car park and going for a walk with guide book trying one place who phoned another and we were sorted.

After settling in the room we went off to find somewhere to get lunch looking for somewhere called Kos Kol with no luck. At this point we realised that Joe was wearing a black T-Shirt with some highly suspicious white stains dribbled down the front. He claimed that it was 'Zumo de Naranja'. He was quite correctly bullied into purchasing clean clothes. With some more walking walking past places and around in circles we finally settled on a paella restaurant and enjoyed a hearty spanish meal (except Joe obviously who eat Lasagne).

After a little siesta I left everyone else and went off for another little wander through the old streets returning a little later to find most people still enjoying their snoozing. After a couple of hours everyone was refreshed and ready to hit the town.

Where first? instead of entering one of the many tapas bars, Paul raced off to find an area by the harbour that resembled a tacky resort in Devon. Back down towards the bars we go, its all a bit of a blur from that point on, disco bars full to the rim with Austrailians saying how they had grabbed the bull by the tail and swung it around their heads, a couple of more sedate bars, eating tapas, more australians then to a bar that played pretty decent music and sold sangria for Phil.

I met some French people who kept telling me that they were not French but British because they came from Britanny. Talked to more Aussies about how I grabbed the bull by the horns and jumped onto its back and rode to the bull ring.

Finally we went into a bar that was empty and played more cheesy spanish pop music (but not No Soy Superman) which was just crap, that closed and we were disappointed that everywhere was closed because it was only half three in the morning.

We walked back to the hostal and had to play cards to decide who was going to get the bed on the floor, which was just damn silly, all I wanted to do was sleep.
