We have decided that the boat trip thing would best be left until the summer - not a bad idea. Therefore I thought we can all go ten pin bowling this saturday afternoon. Anybody whos interested, let me know by wednesday and I will book up a few lanes.
For this months activity I thought we could hire a canal party boat and go cruising for an evening around Birmingham. Obviously to make this worth while would depend on the number of people who want to go.
I am looking at maybe booking the following package from Sherborne Wharf Private Charters (www.sherbornewharf.co.uk)

As I expected there are a lot of Diplomacy games which you can play on the web, many of them seem to attract some very dedicated players. I have spent the morning learning all about the "Churchill Opening", "The Leipzig Leapfrog" etc. It's all very frightening.
I am at the moment experimenting with setting up my own Diplomacy "Judge", this should be capable of accepting peoples orders by e-mail, calculating the results and e-mailing back maps showing the current positions. The question is would anyone want to take part in a game - obviously it will involve modern technolgy which i know is off putting for some and it may require a little practice at writing your orders.
To who ever might be interested - the band I am in at the moment, "Eve's Orchard" have got their first gig on Sunday 22nd February at the Flapper and Firkin in town. I cannot promise that the musical content of the night will actually be any good, but it should be a fun night anyway.
On Friday there is a talk about the Olympic Games ancient and modern and how it fits in with modern greek culture. The poster I saw promises a lively discussion and invites you to 'Bring a Bottle or Two'.
If anyone fancies a bit of high brow culture on a Friday night this is for you, anyone who fancies some low brow, this is also the night for you as you are located in the middle of Broad Street and after drinking your bottles of wine who knows where the night will end.
